Revolutionary Road is a film based on the novel by the same name written by Richard Yates . The film is being directed by Sam Mendes (remember his debut hit movie - American Beauty ?)

Revolutionary Road is scheduled for a December 26, 2008 release in the United States (don’t know when it’ll release in India). The plot of the film focuses on the hopes and aspirations of Frank and April Wheeler , a couple who see themselves as very different from their neighbours. April is an aspiring actress whereas Frank has a corporate job. To cope with his work pressures, Frank takes to alcohol and also has an affair with one of his co-worker.

Frank and April’s marriage to each other slowly goes from bad to worse.

Leonardo DiCaprio plays the role of Frank Wheeler and Kate Winslet plays April Wheeler . It would be interesting to watch the famous Titanic pair of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet back together on screen again. If they were ready to die for each other in Titanic, the scene takes a complete U-turn in Revolutionary Road.

Drona has yet to release but it’s director Goldie Behl has already announced his intentions to make a sequel to Drona. Goldie says it doesn’t matter whether Drona is received well by the public or not. According to Goldie, Drona has a prequel too! So, if he has his way then we would be able to see 3 movies in the Drona series.

Abhishek would be a part of the movie no doubt. Casting Abhishek is obvious as we all know that Goldie-Abhishek relationship is just like Karan-Shahrukh combination - they are inseparable. Goldie’s dad, the late Ramesh Behl , had produced and directed films with Amitabh Bachchan . Previously Goldie had made his debut with the movie ‘Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai ‘ starring Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee .

Goldie adds that Abhishek is like a younger brother to him and he would always make films with him unless Abhishek has some objections with it.

Drona is a movie based on supernatural powers and Goldie claims that the film will be liked by both children as well as adults. He says the film falls into the category of ‘Harry Potter ‘ and ‘Indiana Jones ‘.

It’s a story about Aditya (played by Abhishek), a descendant of a royal family, who fights with a powerful evil magician named Ritz played by Kay Kay Menon , in oder to save the world from this evil magician.

Supposedly, a huge amount of money (somewhere in the range of Rs. 22 crores) has been spent by the producers of the movie for the look of Ritz, his den and troops. Goldie says he spent so much because he wanted to portray Ritz as powerful as possible because Goldie believes that more powerful the villian gets in a film the more intense and exciting the film becomes.

Goldie Behl also went on to add that the highlight of the film Drona is Jaya Bachchan . He asks the viewers to watch out for Jaya’s role in the movie. This will be the first time Jaya Bachchan will be playing the reel life mother to Abhishek.

Drona releases on October 2nd. Let’s see if Goldie gets a golden award for the movie ;o)

Positive is a film for Aids awareness. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, it stars Boman Irani , Shabana Azmi and Arjun Mathur .

The film revolves around a boy named Abhijit who as a child thinks his family is the best family in the whole world. Unfortunately when reality hits, everything goes for a toss and he starts seeing the flaws in his family. Beautifully directed (it’s Farhan Akhtar’s direction after all)  and all the three stars of the movie have done a great job.

Doubt centers on a nun who confronts a priest after suspecting him of abusing a black student, but he denies the charges. Much of the play’s quick-fire dialogue tackles themes of religion, morality and authority. As with the play, the film is also set in 1964.

 

The trailer’s enticing. Meryl Streep at her best again after the recent hit Mamma Mia. “Doubt” will release somewhere around December, 2008.

After the successful blogs by celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Ram Gopal Verma, Karan Johar  etc., it’s Actor-Director-comedian Sajid Khan’s turn to give blogging a shot. Apparently, Sajid’s been approached by many web portals eager to rope him to start a blog for them. If the reports are to be believed then Sajid’s being offered an obscene amount of money by these companies. Sajid however, seems to be undecided as to which web portal he would blog for.

Sajid would make an interesting and humourous blogger considering his knack of pulling up a fast one on just about anybody. Lets hope he starts a blog soon. ;o)
